Seiko SRPA21 Review
Welcome to Tick n' Sip,
Today marks a great day, as it is not only the start of this blog, but it is also the first time I will be reviewing a watch. Today's watch is the Seiko SRPA21 otherwise known as the Seiko Padi Turtle.
Today marks a great day, as it is not only the start of this blog, but it is also the first time I will be reviewing a watch. Today's watch is the Seiko SRPA21 otherwise known as the Seiko Padi Turtle.
The Seiko SRPA21 sports a beautiful blue dial, an eye catching Pepsi bezel, and a cushion case that gives it its turtle nickname. I have owned this watch for over four weeks now and I have been wearing it daily. The Seiko Padi Turtle has a powerhouse automatic Seiko 4R36 movement that is both handwinding and hacking and has been keeping great time for its $550 price point. Seiko states that their 4R36 movement has a standard range of keeping time from +45 and -35 seconds a day, but on my particular model the time ranges well within + or - 10 seconds a day. As with other Seiko watches, the Lumibrite used on the dial is exceptionally bright and will last long throughout the night.
The watch is water resistant to 200 meters and has a screw down crown to maintain its diving standards. My only cons with the watch so far are that there is an ever so slight chapter ring misalignment and that the bracelet included with the watch uses a pin and collar system to hold the links together, making sizing the bracelet a difficult task without proper tools. Overall, the Seiko Padi Turtle is a beautiful diver’s watch and I am more than proud to wear it. If you are on the fence about buying this watch due to its price point, there are other authorized Seiko dealers who offer the watch for a much cheaper price. I would highly recommend this watch to anyone from watch aficionados to people who just want a good, reliable watch.
